Thanks, but with whacko maniacs like this guy on the loose... ... ..... I prefer to and can take care of myself without their help. Irrelivant question on being tazed. Those who like to brag are the first to crap their pants at the first bark of Ma Duce in my experience.

I don't have a problem with decent men and women of CHARACTER, sound judgment, and HONESTY putting forth their best efforts at doing their jobs as LEO's. I have a HUGE problem with thugs, mentally unbalanced psycopaths and sociopaths, liars, and out right criminals who have been issued a badge and a gun and call themselves law enforcement officers. IF the shoe FITS... ... . wear it.

No, it is relevant. I don't know if you have a bone to pick with cops (as I think you do) or if you just got tazed and now you're bent. And what does any of this have to do bragging and a . 50 cal? You seem to like to relate everything back to the military, like it's full of angels and saints... . How about we start posting stories of the Okinawa soldiers arrested for rape, etc? There are probably as many dirtbag soldiers as there are cops.

So what is your point by finding a new article everyday to post? Apparently you have a problem with cops who go beyond their bounds, as we all should. But what is your point for posting all this? Are you as blind to think there aren't decent and upstanding individuals working in Law Enforcement? From your post your saying no, but a new post regarding an LEO overstepping everyday lends me to think otherwise.

Meanwhile, thousands of cops did their jobs today without incident. Yeah, a totally negative and downward spiral trend in law enforcement. Why don't you take your posts back to your gun forums where your survivalist pro consitutionalist anti-LEO posts belong? We don't want to be educated. There are dedicated forums for that.

Oh, and if you're assuming I'm a cop, well, you know what they say about assuming.

Ah... your article means nothing because it says nothing other than a cop shot at a woman and kid. Maybe she tried to run him over... Maybe hes just a nut. Or maybe we should throw out the constitution based on an article written by the news. Line up all the cops strip them of their authority and have you protect us because your obviously so completely unbiased. .

Good posts kenny,

The first cop should be teaching a Psych class to all officers everywhere.

He's the epitome of calm and cool.

Very admirable handling of that situation.

I've run into a few cop "bad attitudes" in my life... . nothing serious... . but when you run into these guys, their attitude does not do much to "enhance" the good feeling of a protecting Police Force.

Ever notice how most of the "bad attitudes" are from younger cops ... . usually ?

The older experienced ones got it figured out... . usually.

I'm all for the police ..... and I'm also all for "transparency" of all police operations.

Keep the bad ones out to begin with and we'd have less problems in the first place.....

I know... easier said than done.

I can't agree more, with one more thought that should apply to everything... Don't judge everyone based on the acts of a few.

Agreed and of those thousands of cops how many of them know about cops like the one in this link and NEVER say a word. Police are held to a HIGHER standard NOT a SEPARATE standard.

Just one more little example of another fine police officer selflessly putting his life on the line for our benefit, safety, and welfare.

Come to find out after court records were opened on this fine example of a police officer, he had amassed two arrests for assault with one conviction, one conviction for stealing, and an arrest for DUI. SGT (as in Sergeant & Supervisor) James Kuehnlein is to be "commended" for such a prestegeous and qualifying record.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that now fired former SGT Kuehnlein's dash cam recording of his valor and bravery in action is "MYSTERIOUSLY" missing now that he is his former employer are being sued.

I NEVER assume scooter. You are doing an astoundingly brilliant job of doing "well, you know what they say about assuming". :-laf

My point in case you haven't picked up on it yet is that yes there ARE bad apples in just about anything you want to quantify. When bad apples are left to run their course, they spoil all the apples. The "us against them" "sheep dog rules the sheep" "code of silence" mentality is perfect example of bad apples being left to run their course. The facts of life are that in pretty much any honorable profession the good apples MUST clean out the bad apples as well as exercise leadership and mentorship to prevent some of the questionable apples from going bad. Policing up their OWN ranks BEFORE they cause damage. That is NOT happening.

An old German proverb states "the apple NEVER falls far from the tree". Sometime that is a really good and a really bad thing.

The SGT screwed up... . he got fired. Should he have been fired before he screwed up?

ST. GEORGE, Missouri (AP) -- A police sergeant whose berating of a driver was captured on videotape has been fired.

Aldermen in the town of St. George, a St. Louis suburb, voted 5-0 in a closed meeting Monday to fire Sgt. James Kuehnlein. Notice of the firing was posted Wednesday at City Hall.

Kuehnlein's attorney, Travis L. Noble, said the officer received a letter Thursday detailing the reasons for his firing. Noble said he would review the letter with Kuehnlein before deciding on a course of action.

Brett Darrow, 20, had a video recorder inside his car when Kuehnlein approached him in a commuter lot in the early hours of September 7. Video Watch the tape and police officer's tirade »

In a video that was widely viewed on the Internet, Kuehnlein is heard taunting and threatening Darrow, sometimes shouting and using profanity. Video CNN's Jeanne Moos introduces the videotaping driver »

"It's what I wanted the whole time," Darrow told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "The conduct was not forgivable. "

Police Chief Scott Uhrig said he recommended that Kuehnlein be fired based both on his language in the tape and because he violated department policy when he failed to tape the encounter himself with his police car's camera. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend

How is this not happening exactly? What information do you have to support this? Your links? Are you saying their internal affairs divisions are all corrupt? Are you aware of all discipline (or lack thereof) that goes on within LEO departments?

Have you been wronged by the cops in some way?

I NEVER assume scooter. You are doing an astoundingly brilliant job of doing "well, you know what they say about assuming".

Um, yeah you do and are. You're entire opinion of LEOs as JBTs is an assumption. Your opinion they aren't policing themselves is an assumption. You have examples to support your case. And there are plenty of examples in the opposite. So your assumptions then just become generalizations. IF the shoe FITS... .

Will Do

One of the moderators brought this thread to my attention. And now since the very TDR Member who started this has posted for us to shut it down, I believe I will.

Controversy is good. But when it turns to one group of TDR Members against another group of TDR Members about something that has no relevance to our common interest (our trucks), it probably is a good idea to close it down before tempers get too hot.

Hope you all understand.
