Common sense

Who's from Connecticut?

Since we're getting into pain, my worst that doesnt go away is from my two blown disks in my back.

The worst from an accident is getting broad sided by a flat bed truck loaded with stockade fencing. He ran a redlight, on the downside of the overpass, I was on the service road. He T boned me right at the Cab of my '80 Yota 4x4. Ripped the cab off the truck, pushed me over 3 lanes sideways. I was knocked out.

Had my seat belt on, so I took the full hit of his bumper in my hip and side. Crushed the side of the truck in about 1 foot. I wook up on the front seat. Jumped out as others were trying to get the mangled doors opened... and then I danced around my totaled Yota saying "look at what you did to my truck, get me a tow truck and home so I fix it!". . over and over again. The paramedics arrived and tied me town to the strecher. . saying I was in shock and asked if I felt anypain... No I didn't ... . yet, they said I will be, it's just that I'm in shock now... . took about 1 hour... and I bruised from knee to shoulder on my left side. Not one broken bone, lots of deep tissue damage. I couldnt walk for a month or two with out crutches. Almost a 8 months of physical therapy to get to use the left shoulder and left hip correctly again. That was some pain. The fource of the hit caused the shoulder belt to permantly damaged the tendons on/in the front portion of my shoulder. I parted that truck out for more than I could of sold it in one peice in pre accident condition.

Numerous fight scars, broken nose twice. Broken ribs, collarbone and 38 stitches in my calf all from horses. Broken several fingers and toes. Went through a barbed wire fence on a dirt bike.

Big eagle tear out tat on my chest.

Been gut shot by AK-47, and later on hit in leg by shrapnel from B-40 rocket, with not too much pain either time thanks to Corpsman's unrestrained use of Morphine. ;)

Stabbed in side by crazy Philipino in a bar brawl in Alongapo City Philippines.

But what hurts WORST of all was getting a root canal done on one of my back teeth, and having the dumb a$$ dentist break off the drill inside one of the canals, and then go fishing for it. :-{}

Tattoos: "Eagle, Globe, and Anchor" on right bicep from Naha City Okinawa.

"Dragon wrapped around Dagger" on left forearm from Bangkok Thailand.

Must be that cheap ink they use over there, cause all thats left of the colors is dark blue.

No tats

No tattoos, my Dad was retired Navy. He had several and told me as a kid not to do it. Just had all 14 upper teeth pulled week before last. Just Novocaine and a little Valium, could've been worse. My kingdom for a steak again!!!!!!!!!

I know what youre sayin... :D

I got a bunch of scars on my elbows from BMX biking. I've owner motorcycles since 7 years old, but the bicycles is what I got messed up on.

I did get one decent scar from jumping off a motorcycle at about 40 mph. I (we) was getting chased by the local law, (north jersey neighborhoods didnt take kindly to dirt bikes on the street)and there was 3 of us on the thing. I was the third, and we werent making a very good getaway, so I told the others that "I'll see ya later". It was only a 125, so it needed all the help it could get. :D

The cop nearly ran me over, and I caused quite a disturbance at the softball game that (I didnt know) was going on. :rolleyes:

I never did confess who the driver was, but I know the cop knew.

I got a tatoo. Stupid kid thing to do at the time. I was 16 years old with a fake ID. I had a goatee (way before it was cool:rolleyes: )so I looked old enough.

I almost cut my left index finger off whittling once, I was about 6 or 7. Still got a good scar on that finger.

Numerous scars and stitches, all of them nothing compared to whats above.

You guys want to talk real pain?

GOUT. :mad:

Both big toes and one ankle, at the same time, it will take you down.

On the bright side, it only hurts while the Earth is spinning.

Almost too may times to talk about

18 years ago I had my first bout with a pushed out lower back disc. Dropped me to my knees. Many times since then but the worst one was when I had just finished rebuilding a transaxle and had picked it up off the work bench and placed it on the floor style transmission jack (old shop, we didn't have lifts) and when I went to straighten up I hit the floor with severe pain down both legs and it felt like my crotch was in a very tight vise. Would not wish that on my worst enemy. I took a fall down a 45 degree inclined driveway at the shop, both feet went out from under me on the slick surface and landed on by head and shoulders. Hurt four discs in my neck. After fighting work comp for 4 months of no way to get relief pain in my neck and arms, I had 2 discs removed from my neck. Been ok since. Went down at 70 mph on a motorcycle as a passenger and while turning a corner there were rocks on the road. Went across three lanes and took out a 4x4 stop sign post with my left wrist. Broke it in three places. I had to help lift the bike into the trunk of a freinds car before they would take me to the hospital. Many dislocations of my right knee cap that started when I tried to play football in high school. I think I have had enough in my life so far to make up for the lucky ones who do not feel much pain in their lives. Many more but it would take all night.

Edit. Forgot, I was 17 years old one week before I turned 18 and was riding in a very fast 340 Duster owned by a friend who happened to be drunk at the time. Was travelling down a rocked road and he nails the throttle and when he hits second gear the car went sideways and hit an embankment with enough force to send the back end of the car up higher than the front of the car. the car went back onto the road on my side and I was being pushed out of the passenger window my arm was outside the car when the car hit the road on my side and just about took my arm off at the elbow. Had to have the main muscles and nerves reattached. The only thing that saved my arm was the bones did not seperate and the hands of a skilled surgeon.

Gene, kidney stones are pretty dam painful. I had them several times.

One time I went to the hospital (only way I could leave work w/o a hassle)

I gotta tell ya, stones vs. morpheine(sp?). The stones win!!! That's PAIN buddy!!!

I have several slipped discs and a few pinched nerves. This gets painful sometimes. :rolleyes::{

Thanks Ted! Yup I heard it, but Cherrys make me sick(The fruit, or are you talking... ... ... mebbe..... ) I can't win!

I have tried some other natural cures, I about got it beat.

The only things I had was running over my fingers by accident by the runners on the sled I was riding on (my hands slipped) which felt like my fingers feel off. I live out in the country and while chasing my brother down a gravel road hill I lost control of my bike and ran into my brother bike which bummed my knee, but my brother had to go to the hospital to get stitchs in his head. And the most recent time was while changing my blown out trailer tire coming back from Colorado a couple of months ago while jacking up the trailer with my trusty hi-lift jack off the Jeep raising it went okay, but when it was time to lower the jack I leaned over the handle (this is a no-no) to help push down on the handle to help lower the trailer slowly and I accidently let go of the handle with my other hand still holding the top part of the jack vertical as a result my left hand felt pretty sore and bruised for a few days from being smash between the jack and the handle, just glad my face was not there.

When I was a kid, the dentist taught me valuable lessons in how to deal with pain. He never used any pain killers when he worked on my teeth and he did lots of work on them over the years. Maybe I should have learned the lesson of keeping my teeth clean, rather than suffering the drill and pull routine.

When I was nine and my sister was five, I got to see what pain "looked" like after I chased her through a storm door and she got a belly full of glass and almost died. I found out what pain felt like after my father got ahold of me.

Pain is cool :)
