Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) TC and VB install

How difficult is the installation of a torque convertor and valve body from DTT? I am looking a new truck since totalling my 99 (see sig). The one I found also a 99 is an auto but I figure a DTT auto would be as goood or better than the six speed was with all my goodies on it. I am keeping everything including the clutch in case i do find a 5spd or early 6 spd to buy. If not the SBC Con ofe s will be for sale if anyone wants it. I am just deciding what to do and if I can do it myself. Thanks for any help, Dan

It really is not hard at all if you are equipped to do it and somewhat of a mechanic. What is your mechanical ability like? What is your tool situation? A transmission jack is almost mandatory and a lift sure is nice. You will also need a couple of quality gauges with hoses to get into the cab to check pressures and set-up details.



If the other 99 has some miles on it a TC and VB may not be a good idea. Call Bill for details on that... .....
