I have also had some tps trouble. 1st one at about 100k paid the dealer the full price. Had 2 go bad after that, both covered by chrysler. 1 at same dealer , the other at a dealer in Fargo. N. D. 300 miles from home. Finally had 1st dealer find bad connector to tps to be problem. Was a very intermittent problem , over 1 yr period. Last one came in cummins box, latest version I guess. Been good for 45k now. I put in a mystery switch too. Just in case it acts up on the road.

larry, if it acts up again, give me a call (772-633-3180). i have a solution for the tps unlock problem. i don't believe it is a bad connector. sometimes just jiggling the wires will make it stop..... for a while. it is noise in the wiring harness... . scott.

My converter was locking up nice and hard at about 45 MPH and now it just never locks up. We put a diagnostic computer on the truck and it said the truck was trying to lock the TC but it was'nt locking up. Do you think I have a TPS problem or failing TC? I have about 15K miles on rebuilt transmission and new converter.

I had a similar problem with my old '94. The dealer changed out the TSP several times but never fixed the problem. I later discovered a TSB that referred to a symptom with the transmission which was very hard to detect. The symptom was "surging RPMs at about 45 MPH," Like I said it was hard to detect since it was only a couple hundred RPMs. The real problem was the master computer for the truck!!! Once I convinced the Dealer that was the problem and they changed out the computer the problem ended. Now, I don't know if this is your problem but maybe an old bugaboo is raising its ugly head again. Good luck
