Hi guys,

I searched the forums a bit, but I didn't come across an answer to this type of question...

I have noticed, only a couple times while towing, what feels like some quick slippage in the transmission (2006 48RE). It has been very infrequent, and the 2-3 times it's done it, it's only lasted for half a second or so.

Is this: TC slipping/going? Bands slipping? Me being a paranoid spaz?

If it is one of the first two, would it just slowly get worse so I'd have a chance to fix it, or would it just suddenly go out, leaving me on the side of the road?

Thanks as always! Oh, yeah, I'm probably running somewhere around 400/800 and the transmission is stock... about as far as I want to go power-wise before I go do stuff to the transmission I can't afford right now!

Thanks!

Your description is not very clear, but I can tell you if you are pulling a toy box with 400hp on a stock trans you are on borrowed time. Good luck

Bob

Have you looked at the transmission fluid? It doesn't take much slip to turn the fluid dark and give it that burnt smell. Do you have a trans temp gauge? I would in your situation.

Slipping is just that and often it just gets progressively worse. You have a bunch of power and if towing that way, you certainly could just break something, and there you would sit. :(
