I have a '99 2500 4x4 with the auto trans. Over the last couple of weeks have noticed after a heavy rain the tc will lock-up and unlock while at any cruising speed. It also in the past week has acted the same way after some routine pm on the truck and a hosing off with degreaser and a rinse to the undercarriage. Haven't heard anyone mention this in the past. The truck has 50,000 on the ticker with no real prob's to date. An EZ is the only power upgrade thus far, no heavy towing, and yes the fluid and bands have been serviced 6 mos ago.

BTW, when the mystery switch is flipped, the tc locks up and holds normally. Could the prob. be water in the trans control plugs? I thought maybe the orig. batts maybe, but the water issue???

Come on now fellas, for sure at least one of you has had at least something like this happen at some time in the past.

Anyone???

TSRAM, It sounds like the TPS is starting to give you problems. This issue has been covered before extensively. Do a search for "TPS" and you will find that many have experienced the same problems you are describing including myself. If you still have problems, don't worry we will try to help you the best we can. :)

TSRAM, it is caused by electrical noise spikes. This is a common problem and has many causes. Getting the electrical connections wet could be a contributing cause. Check my post of 3/02/03, Erratic locking - unlocking - another fix?

Changing the APPS should be the last resort.

I did the search and read some of the past posts on tc's locking/unlocking. I do still have the original batts. in the truck. I haven't noticed any indication that they may be getting weak. That is a minor fix if needed. I may break down this weekend and unplug a couple of connections, clean, and re-install with some dielectric grease to see if it helps any before spending any money. I havent added anything new to the electrical system in quite awhile. The truck does see a little dirt during hunting season. I'll hope for dirt or corrosion for once.

Thanks for the input guys.

BTW. This was my first post. Been a reader for a couple of years now. 2nd CTD so far, no end in sight here.
