Found this today:

I was wondering if that is a worthwhile mod, or should I leave it alone?

I'm sure it's been covered before, but I searched though about 6 of 18 pages of results (searched for torque convertor lockup) and didn't find anything.

Reason I ask is sometimes my convertor won't lockup. I shut the truck down and it's fine after. Seems to do it moreso when I pull my trailer. It will unlock when going up a grade... then won't lock up afterward. Doesn't do this all the time, just once in a while.

A lock up switch is nice for coming down long hills lock the conv. uses the motor for a brake and you can hold speed and not kill your brakes.

Try putting the truck in N next time this happens than back in drive see if will lockup.

If you wire in a lock up switch it would tell you if you problem is in the PCM or in the pan.

The problem I have... (been paying attention to it more)

I will be cruising along at 70mph with cruise, then I get on the gas to pass or something and it will unlock. Then I get back down to 70mph and it's stuck unlocked. To get it to lock, I have to floor it and at around 80mph it will lock back up.
