Know of any good Cummins shops in S.F. bay area?

Where to install the thermocouple? Before or after the turbo?

A lift is a real help! Drop the pan and let drain overnight, this will lessen the mess. Have a porta-power or jack to spread frame a bit. (makes getting crossmember out much easier) If 4x4 you need to pull transfer case first, then trans. Trans will balance pretty well with conv. in, but is tail-heavy when removed. conv. weighs near 70 pounds, have a good grip with dry hands. A new pump bushing is a good idea if possible, align the drive lugs on the inner pump rotor at 12&6, makes getting conv. in much easier. Don't spin conv. while trying to install. Put some fluid in conv. before installing. Be sure to remove the check ball from the one-way valve in cooler line. Start all conv. bolts before tightening. It will take around 17 qts. to fill. Just some highlights,HTH.

Don't forget to take the dip stick tube out before you pull it back! #ad
