TC unlocks ?

Thought I had this figured out, but oh well.

Over the weeknd I was pulling my TT with OD OFF and just cruising along smartly. Then from time to time while approaching 60+mph at about 2375 rpm it seemd the TC would unlock as I was building speed but before I would have turned OD back ON.



How cum". Is this normal? I've never noticed it before but don't know that I ever paid attention that closely before.

I had the same/similar problem with my 98. 5 several months ago. I called Bill K and explained what was going on and he asked me to measure the TPS voltage at the computer. It should measure somewhere between . 5 and . 7 vdc. Mine was down to . 3vdc. I took it to the dealer, he replaced it and the problem was solved. BTY, remind the dealer that there were two different TPS modules for the 98. 5 trucks. Make sure he orders the right one.



At the moment, I don't remember what the wire color is for the TPS voltage. If you have the maintanance manuals, look it up, if not, e-mail me back and I'll look it up for you.

don, thanks for your suggestion. I finally got around to getting this resolved and the dealer reflached the ECM. Voila, no more unlocking, unfortunately I don't know the code of the reflach.

they did 18-02-99 ??? for erratic TC locking ...

the tag says 18-11-99. are the TSB's cummulative? meaning if 18-11-99 is done is 18-02-99 included as they are both to the ECM ?
