TCC Lockup Switch on '03 w/47RE

I searched and didn't find anything dead set on how to go about hooking this beast up.

Which wound up explaining hookup on an 05 (48RE) and maybe a wire color difference.



Do any of you know the wire that needs to be tapped?

My 03 with the 47re is pin 7 on the round plug at trans. Just like the newer trucks with the 48re.

Oh yea, I did not run any resistors or jumper wires either. It locks it up fine.

FSM shows pin number 7 color OR\BK for the TCC lockup solenoid on the transmission control assembly (the round pug on the driver side of trans is the interface).



I would not wire it without a resistor to ground. Some have gotten away with this and it worked but I believe it is simply a bad ground that is allowing it to work. Most, not all, inputs to the PCM will go to limp mode with less than 5 ohms resistance. The resistor will insure it never codes.

Not if you use a resistor between the switch and ground.



AFAIK, the jumper wire stopped the PCM\ECU from putting the trans into limp mode on all the years that had the ability to shut down the relay. Using a resistor negates the need for the jumper.
