I've got a question...

At 7200 members paying $35 a year for an annual income of $252,000- why can't the TDR
give these things away to the membership??

The 4 times a year magazine can't cost a whole lot, they sell advertising in it.

The web site has paying banner ads, too.

You'd think the self-promotion of membership decals/plates would help increase membership.

How about it TDR??

Where are these decals?

I sent an email to the TDR a while back to expressing an interest in purchasing some, but I never heard back.

Deezul Doug,
They practicaly give the decals away and the name plates are only a buck. However, I know what you mean. They could just as easy send a decal with our quarterly issue.

To receive decals "forward a self-addressed stamped envelope to":
TDR/Web Site Decal
3651 Peachtree Parkway PMB E 331
Suwannee, GA 30024

For nameplates send a dollar to offset postage and mailer to the main office address.

This info is on page 111 in the Feb/Mar/Apr 2001 issue.

i don't think the 7200 number = paying members, just the # of web members. i also think that the web and paper tdr are somewhat seperate. i'm not sure... .

just a thought. the u. s. parachute assoc. sends a round uspa sticker and a bumper sticker with a catchy phrase on it yearly. $46 per year (12 issues) and you are covered somewhat if you are injured jumping. they also use the membership's $$ to fight restrictive airport laws and taxes (latest one being a $12 "flight fee"... . even though we don't complete the flight #ad
uspa won that one). most of us know what the nra does with it's dues (life member here).

i'm not sayin' what the tdr should or should not do with the $$ (i'm quite happy with the mag and more than happy with the folks), just saying what other clubs do with their dough.

just thinkin' out loud... . errrr... . out typin'?

<font color=blue>The 7200 members you quoted is only registered members of the website. There is well over 10,000 TDR members I belive. As it was stated above, stickers are free if you request them and send a SASE. is that too much to ask... the price of postage? Also a nameplate can be had by sending $1. 00 to the same address. I don't think thats asking too much.

The TDR is a full time job for Robert Patton and his wife, its not just a hobby... its too big for that. Printing and postage costs are probably the biggest exspenses, then maybe the website (cost for bandwidth and sapce etc). There is a thread in the "website" forum that discusses this very topic... ... See this thread More then likely this thread will be moved there as well.

I noticed in the new issue they have TDR Badges now, I'll have to reread that part when I get home from work.

So in answer to your question they do give out free decals if you cover the postage.

The $35 you pay is for the magizine subcription only, this website is just a bonus to it..... <font size=-2>

Isn't that decal about the size of a mailing label? At least that is how it looks in the TDR. I thought it would be the turbo housing logo alone, but it has some other text with it.

I dunno, didn't look like it was worth the 34 cents to get it. But to each his own.

I hope someone in TDR reads this because I am not the only one who would like to see a plate or logo emblem/badge that is only the TDR logo of the turbo and nothng else because I would like to put it on my truck. A badge the same colors shown on page 4 of the winter 1999 issue (iss. 23). I think that would look nice on the tailgate and doors of my truck- same size as what is in the issue is fine. #ad

I saw Robert at an SETDR event in Atlanta a few months ago and he gave me a nice little badge for the rear window. Black with embossed gold letters. You just have to drive down here and see him and he'll give you one.

What size envelope do I send?

Guys, please check Geno's insert in the latest edition of the TDR (delivered yesterday #ad
). Look on page 15 in the lower right corner. I believe someone was listening #ad
I've checked Geno's web site, but it appears they have not updated it yet as the badges do not appear..... or I couldn't find them #ad

I would think that a windshield banner would be something you would want to personalized.

Maybe some kind of monthly award for best post would be a good starting point for a windshield banner or whatever.

To me it is worth the money spend to be able to post to this site, I am personally pleased with the info I have gathered here.

My good friend owns www.Prowleronline.com and does a weekly award for the best post. Check out his site and check out my decals if you have a moment.

Since the quarterly magazines have plastic wrap around them when they ship, why couldnt they send a sticker out with the magazine once a year?

A few years ago they DID give away a sticker here or there. They were the "file card" sized with catchy phrases next to the logo. I have one left (I think). One said "Real Men don't ask directions. " I cut out the logo and stuck it on the rear window of my truck and put the other part on the back of a friends Nissan. The color match was perfect and it took a few days before he noticed it.

Anyway, the logo size was almost perfect (could be a touch larger) and the color (white/red) was pretty good. It would nice to get 1 with your renewal.

The new magazine just came in yesterday.
In the first couple of pages are some articles on "tough times" and how the TDR needs more members.

Nothing will increase membership more than having the TDR logo mounted on everyones' Ram for other Ram owners to see.
"What is that club you belong to??"

I'd be glad to put one on my truck, if they SENT it to me- I already paid my dues.

You want more exposure TDR?
Then send the stickers out in the magazine.
