Mine went "white" too and the gray paint is coming off in a single chunk. A little super glue and some polyurethane may just help it survive. Anyway, if not, we'll just call the thing a little "badge of courage!"

I had geno's replace mine once already. The paint all came out of mine inside of a few months. I called and they sent me a new one. It did it too (within 2 months). I gave up on it. The one for the hitch receiver did the same thing.

I'd pay a little more for a better quality product.

Same here, only when I removed it the bolt spun in the back. I removed the bolt and was going to paint it, but decided it wasn't worth the trouble.

Mine too... . It looks like Hemidarts. Maybe if I cleaned all the old stuff out and filled the areas with some dyed epoxy it will last longer.

Geeze, too bad about the badges. . and I was thinking I should order one.

Maybe the maker is the same person that binds the magazine, my issue 50 fell apart, pages everywhere.

Laughing at posts, I thought that mine was the only one. Never thought to call Geno's as this thing is on the front of truck and has been rock chucked, sand blasted, etc. over a four year period. Only thing that hasn't hit it is a friggin cow. It still looks better than my rocker panels or the three windshields I had to replace. Put sticker on rear window. Took it off and cleaned it up and put it away for a few months. I'm just saving up enough money to take it to my plater and get it gold plated. Then I'll be the only one that has one like it :-laf .

PAINTED badges??

Guys, these are painted??? thought they only came in silver. Seriously, I don't see how the paint hangs onto the white metal casting as long as it does - vibration, tempeature coefficients, moisture, etc. Anyone in our organization familar enough with plastic technology to develop a new generation badge with injection coloring in the molding? Maybe a delrin badge? I got model trains with delrin wheels that have been pounded through an entire childhood and they're still round!!

my issue fifty has the back few pages and cover half off it.

Seems that Nothing is built like it used to be, including magazines

Yeah Double D PLUS when ya add on the fact that it's bolted on facing the elements of sand , bugs , dirt , sun , soap , and rock salt, no wonder I feel bad stranding the poor lil guy out there for 4 years :{ Dang I feel guilty :( I just went out 2 months ago and spent 12 whole dollars (48 quarters to be exact as I cleaned out the laundry room dish) on a new one. Poor lil guy I'll miss his lil 3 dollar a year depreciating butt :-laf

No but seriously. What about those other grille badges? I don't kow the name but you allways see them on oh say mercedees and such. Those are allmost like a silk screened cloth laid over the disk and sealed with a transparent heavy duty vynil. That would look slicker than 50 with two different styles to choose from. Elegant (Poking funn at the Merc crowd) and the other including our current TDR emblem and having a sick background behind it.

My first one fell apart in a year, I since have had a new one with no issues, although I do take it out in the fall, seems that salt, moisture, freezing, and winter sand blasting has been the culprit of mine. So far summer use only and still looks new.
