Considering that the badges are made and sold to us at cost, I really can't justify asking Geno's to give me another one. In my line of work, a weathered piece of equipment or aparel is just a sign of an "OG". Kind of a badge of honor. Shows that you have been around a while. The paint has been coming off of mine for about 2 years now. I figure I will wait til it's all gone, and spray it with a clear coat. Just my . 02... ... .....

Why not spray it with 4-5 coats of clearcoat BEFORE putting it on out in the weather? Might add a few years to it's life! :--) :)

Mine looks the same. It looks kind of shabby next to my TDRc badge. I have a buddy in the TDR who's badge looks the same, his wife painted it up for him and now his looks better. Maybe I will suggest to her that she start doing this as a business. She could charge $13 for the repaint and ship. :D

Dear Geno's Garage,

As a new TDR member, who is about to take delivery on my 1st Ram CTD, I was going to order a Grille Badge from you.

but now ... ... .....

I read of my fellow members experiences ..... :(

I would still consider buying an improved version of the Grille Badge! :)

I agree I thought Geno's sold quality stuff, hmmm

I agree

12. 00 isn't all that much IMO so I wouldn't expect much especially with this statement:

We found a cost effective vendor that made these emblems in a pewter/colored finish.

It would probably last longer if it was magnetic so you could put it on the tail gate.

I have seen magnetic material you can cut that might work but I don't know if its flat on the back.

Ok, can we get a group CHROME-ing from somplace?

My badge is holding up OK, Ive got a few chips in the colors, but Id rather sandblast mine and have it sent to a CHROME shop :D

All my white peeled off today when I was washing the truck. I am going to get some model paint out and see if my hand is still steady enough to paint it all up. I will post pics when I get done with it. -Jason

Mine lost most of it's paint a long time ago... ... and I don't care... ... just means it's been on the grill for a while.

Those that know what it is..... know what it is... ..... those that don't - probably could care less anyway.

My old one was about 3years old and it started to flake off also.

So i took off all the flakes and polished it. The material is very soft, I tried useing a brass wheel but it was too abrasive

I'll have to see if i can find the old one and post a pic

Old begets old, I guess,

Mine started to show its age, I caught it before it went south and covered it with two part clear Epoxy. The white turned a yellow cast, but its still all there and lookin good. I keep it there all summer and winter.

Both of mine lost there painted finish. We have harsh winters here and it only took one winter on each to ruin them. They are now in the junk drawer in the garage and the sticky badge TDR sends with your membership renewal is now on my truck cap and looking good thus far.

It's getting worse:

Paint Pens:

A little white paint around the edge followed up by little black on the letters. Touched off with some Red for TDR. :-laf Only kidding that;s what I did with my old one.

You'll be good to go for a couple of more years.

My original one lasted 2 years in Anchorage. This one is about 5 years old. South Carolina climate is easier on things.
