Okay guys my Dad bought me a TDR grill emblem for X-mass. I want to install it, but all it came with was a small cheesy piece of velcrow. I really don't know how that velcro is going to stick to the honeycomb in the grill. Any one have any suggestions?? I know a few of you have these... how did you mount it???

I bought two

Mounted them on the D-pillars on the sides of the cab right above the SLT Laramine emblem. I used 3M mounting tape and the presure washer can't even blowem off. :) I would love to post a pick but too poor to aford a digital camera.

I used an elevator bolt (like a carriage bolt with a big flat head) epoxied to the back. works great. mounted upper left of grill.

I thought the same thing about the velcro. I did use it by sticking it to the honeycomb grill and then poking a couple pieces of bailing wire through it so that I could twist the ends together around the grill. It's worked well for the past couple of months.

Anybody ever thought about...

The back (I guess that would be the front) side of the outside mirrors?

I was considering that location for my decals, but they were a little too big. If something was small enough, it might look O. K. It would be really easy to spot from a distance.

Silicon

Just dab some clear silicon on the back of the emblem and stick it on the grill, mines been on this way for months. ;)

A while back sombody posted this idea, I tried it and it works great.

Find a bolt that fits through the grill and JBweld it to the back of the grill badge then stick it through the grill and put a washer and nut on the back side and tighten it down.

If you want to see a picture of how i mounted mine let me know

Thanks tgbol. The extra surface area of the elevator bolt gives some extra peace of mind. Am waiting for the epoxy to dry and will slap it in the grill tomorrow.

Well that sounds like an easy solution. Since I am headded to work in the AM for two weeks I will take it with me and borrow a bit of "baker Lock" and stick a bolt to the back. For those of you who don't know about baker lock, think JB Weld X10.

Thanks for the help.
