TDR is Great

As an ex-Cummins employee and a Newbe to the register I just wanted to say that I think this is the best place I have ever seen for info. I am a new Dodge owner... First time(was GMC), and love it. My GMC was bombed and

occasionally I get that way, but this Cummins is great.

I'll say it again... TDR has saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars, over the years, on fixing and maintaining my own truck. You can find out what works and what doesn't, what accessories to take a look at, and just plain great information on almost any subject dealing with the CTD. The annual fee is well worth the money...

I worked in rebuild. Started off tearing down engines, then slowly moved up the line to inspection. Saw a lot of carbon build up on the intake valves and every now and then a rod through the block and a melted piston. Was a good experience with the in line 6 24 valves, But these were for the big trucks, not Dodge.

Actually, we may finally have some one who knows what they are talking about. I know let's talk oil, neh? Did that carbon build up come from syn or dino? Extended change intervals? :-laf :-laf

Well, it's hard to say, most of the oil was drained out of the pan by the time we got to

them, but likely due to not having the valves adjusted and a number of other things, like running the engine at idle for long periods. Also most of these engines had over 500,000 miles on them.
