Issue 104 of the Turbo Diesel Register was mailed from the printer on May 1, 2019.

The assignment for Issue 104 was given prior to Ram’s 2019 truck announcements in January. Our writers were asked to share some of their “bucket list” destinations. TDR writer Mark Barnes’ coverage of the Lane Motor Museum in Issue 103 prompted the assignment.

In Issue 104, you will see my story about a Mecum Auction destination trip.

Other writers make mention of interesting trips and places. But Ram’s introduction of the 2019 Heavy Duty truck and its 400 horsepower/1000 torque took center stage in the magazine.

Together with Ram’s 2019 HD announcement, we have lots to share with you:

Finally, it is May, and it is time to get excited about “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” the Indy 500. Using pages from Clessie Cummins’ book, “My Days with the Diesel,” we will take a trip back in time to 1952 and the Cummins Diesel Special, #28 Indianapolis 500 race car. This was a historic time for Cummins and the development of turbochargers. Together with our TDR article, we have a video from the Cummins archives that talks about the #28 car.
