Competition what clutch to buy??

Competition Drag truck update...

That Ford did run very well Friday night in Jesup. But what happened to it, to keep it out of Sat nights pulls?? Blown engine?

Just curious

Craig

Hung a plunger in the pump on Friday. Kinda hard to find custom parts that far away from home.

It still ran good for only running on 4 out of 6 cylinders.

But Matt he is in the insane hp crowd I have heard of a lot of p pumps sticking plungers on pulling tractors. that is why they have fuel dumps, air shut offs and other saftey stuff. I have seen one start to take off at the heavy end of the track and it didn't take long for the operator to kill it.

He may not be even using a p pump there are other pumps out there that are used in it's place so I am told, but a sigma (sp?)pumps are very expensive. I don't know

Sticky plungers...

Okay - so it happens every day in pulling... . but WHY?! :)

Craig - you know me well enough that a simple explanation is never enough to satisfy me. :-laf

The 12-cylinder pumps used on the 6-bangers are variations of the tried and true P-7100... . I have no idea who makes 'em or what they started out life as...

I bet if I payed Scheid a lot of money... they'd sell me one and give me a brief history minus some technical details.

As if I need that kind of fuel at this stage of the game... . :-laf

Matt

What turbos are those?

And how come they're not going through an intercooler???

Where is your power comming on at in the RPM range?

Vaughn,

There is probably a water system hidden in all that.

If you look closely in that picture you might find one.

That pic. isn't of my truck but I am running alot of water (1- 1 1/2 gal. per run). Keeps the intake temps to about 130-150 deg. and cyl temps no higher than 1500 degF. Yes I am running a P-pump and the reason for the stuck plunger was my own fault (put DV in upside down). LOL

What was he thinking when he carnaged the cowl to fit those tiny chargers:):) I watched a video of your truck this weeked Sonic. Just a little extra white/gray smoke was poking out from under the hood. Headgasket? or water inj got loose and sprayed down the exhuast manifold. :) Good Looken truck!

Actually that was just the freshness of my exhaust paint burning off with a little soaked in fuel on the ATS manifold from a leaking injecter return line earlier. If you thought that was bad you should have seen my first run in Wilmington, OH where I blew a head gasket and a freeze out plug. By the time I got to the end of the track I could barely see.

People always question the water I shoot as I have an intercooler(custom on in the works) till we start talking intake temps. That is a butt load of water you shoot but that is what it takes with you guys to live without a cooler. I personally would like to have mine setup as a two stage system that was Boost first stage then EGT controlled on the second, yea I know they have them but I'm a low buck guy! If you get to were you can show pics of the Chargers even from a distance we would love to see them.

Supersonic, VERY, VERY cool truck!!! I hope to see you run this summer, maybe at Muncie. Also can you drive your truck on the street at all? How cool would it be to sit at a stop light building boost with smoke shooting 100 feet straight up in the air out of a stack in the hood!:D
