Fuel Saving Idea

Want to increase your performance and fuel mileage? These days when the price of fuel costs more than a gallon of milk, adding Centane additive to your engine will raise the Centane level to

6. You should see about a 1 to 2 mpg increase in mileage, I did after the first couple of tank fulls. You will also notice a little more punch at the pedal!

Ride a bike! Just joking! How about keeping your right foot out of the go pedal. (All that black smoke is diesel fuel that could get you a little further down the road. )

keep the air pressure up in the tires. the door to my mega says 45 psi empty. i'm running 65 psi front, 60 psi rear.
and keeping the boost and load levels down.

As M. Mule stated, avoid fast acceleration, always shift before 2000 rpm. When I bought my first gen the previous owner told me he was seeing 16-17mpg in town. After my first fill-up I saw 20mpg. With mixed driving conditions that truck has never delivered less than 20, normally 21-22 empty. If I run with the hubs in it'll knock me down to 18. It's all about driving habits.

Drive with one eye on the boost guage, if I keep our Mega Cab boost around 5 lbs. I can get 20 - 21 on the road. With our travel trailer behind, and the transmission in tow mode and the boost low I can get 14 - 15 mph. If I don't pay attention, it will drop to 12 real quick with the trailer.

Bottom Line - - - KEEP 'YER FOOT OUT OF IT!

Remove all that extra stuff in the bed. I know guys hauling around hundreds of pounds of junk that they store in there, at a cost to mileage.

Also keep your truck clean, less wind resistance on waxed paint. Mud might look nice but not to the airflow.

45 Cetane, if you can get it, Fill up in the morning ( cooler fuel )
you get more energy (volume ) than warmer fuel.
( Florida Diesel is C**P , 40 cetane & HOT )

When you find a " Good" Fuel stop, one that gets good mileage,
Plan your stops there. ( Wilco , exit 205 I81 is my best fuel stop)

Turn off A/C, ( Only use defrost when needed ( A/C))

" 4x4 /NO CAD " consider manual Hub Conversion.

And of course , Light foot

And Lastly, I have not seen any measurable increase in Fuel Mileage with Cetane adders. .

If your girlfriend don't mind the other two in your bed, its well worth the extra fuel. :-laf

Stocky Michelin tires have low rolling resistance, aired up.

EGT, lower is better. I like to be around 650 or so at cruise.

Mo air, let the engine breathe with nearly no exhaust pressure.

I put 3"taller tires now it wont spin on dry pavement saves on tires and nitrogen in tires no blowouts this year on truck or traler with nitro tires dont heat up even on 100+days in PHIX AZ with alittle overload
