TDR members at Carlisle, KY truck pull

How many of you guys showed up for the truck pull at Carlisle on Saturday night? I saw one guy from the GLTDR. I was hoping to meet some fellow members.

There was six trucks total that came down including myself, SmokinCummins (Ryan), and Dave & Loretta Mitchell. It was a good pull along with a tough track. I think everyone had good time. I hope we can all get together again for pull like that. Take care!!

I saw Ryan there. He didn't get his rpm's up enough. I was driving the silver Dodge that took 4th place. I didn't think that I would come that close to Gresh and Mitchell. Of all the pulls that I have been to, Carlisle has been the best. Apparently Lorretta, wasn't giving it all she had that night. I wouldn't either though if I was 4 hours from home and had to haul another truck. Next time we'll have to meet.

Smoker, Dave told me before we got there that you was plannin on comin down and your truck was everything he said it was. You ran really well. Your truck can deffinately put the power to the track. Ryan had to drop a gear at the start b/c his clutch didnt want to lock-up. Hopefully he'll get that taken care of, and that way he can put all the power to the ground. I dont have near enough to compete at Scheid but I'm thinkin about goin anyway. From the way your truck ran the other night, It seemed to me that you have plenty to compete. I've got the fuel, just not the wheel speed like Loretta... lol. Her truck amazes me and how it's so driveable for everyday use. If I stay around Dave any longer I'll have twins on mine... hehe. It's just kinda hard on the wallet... lol. Take care man, and I hope we can all run into each other again sometime soon.

Ohio gang question

Since you guys have probably seen Dave Mitchell pull more than I have this year (once), I have a question for you. Does his truck always whine like that or has he done that to it recently? Within my few past years of truck pulling and listening to others pull, I got a firm belief that Mitchell is using a blower that is belt or gear driven for his bottom end boost. Any insight on this. I know that was not turbo whine.

Hmmm {rubbing hands together} Looks like I found a victim for a move here. I think this belongs in the Events Forum. Hope my first attempt works :)

Doc

Edit: Cool, it works. Sorry, Smoker, I just had to do it :)

Smoker, I'm not exactly sure why his trucks whines like that, but yes it has done that all of this year. Now that he's not blowin turbos anymore he can work on other power mods. Take care!

Smoker, I was the one in the black GLTDR T-shirt. Too bad we missed each other...

I had a great time, talked to Ryan & Erik, Dave & Loretta, Dan Scheid, met some new people...

Hope we can get more pulls in Kentucky next year...

I forgot to mention that the other night at the pulls, one of the head guys from the State Tractor Pulling Association came up to Loretta and I and asked about maybe getting an organized truck class together that would pull with the Super and Pro Stock tractors weekend and week out. He said all he needed was a list or to confirm the amount of trucks that would be able to attend each pull and a set of rules and regulationa to abbide by. If we can get enough trucks together he said they will do it. I will post more info when I find out what Loretta works out with them. Be good!

That is what I have been waiting to hear. I am waiting to see what kind of rules they are going to have so that I can build my motor this winter. I wish they would allow us to use two ton rearends. A rough track can kill a Dana 80 with a lot of power. I want to know how many turbos; blowers. I want to know what the max cubic inch motor is that we can run. I hope they do something soon.
