I also attended the TDR National event.
What a great time!!!
The TDR members were invited to share with the Cummins employees the ten year anniversary celebration for building our engine at the CMEP(Columbus Mid-range Engine Plant).
We had the opportunity to drive four 2003 models. I drove a 3500 H. O. (305 HP, 550 FT PDS) 6 SPD 4X4 4 Door Dually.
At a local race track, we had a chance to bracket race among the members present. This was my son's favorite event. A local Ford 3500 4x4 had the nerve to challenge Dodge's/Cummins supremacy, but was soundly defeated!!!
The plant tour was the chance to see the new 2003 engine being built and to meet the people who designed and build the engine.
They are very enthusiastic about the new engine and their continued relationship with Dodge.
There were many quality seminars presented, such as the new
Bosch fuel injection system, vehicle maintenance by Dodge reps, and they even had a model of an actual drive train from the new 2003 truck on display. The seminars were held in the Holiday Inn convention room, it was a nice setup.
The rest of the event was held at the Ceraland RV Campground. This is a Cummins facility that has a campground, driving range, gun range, a gymnasium with indoor basketball courts and weight room, a go-cart course, swimming pool. The vendor fair was held in the gymnasium. There was a good assortment of vendors showing a range of products such as go-fast parts, fuel injectors, transmission upgrades, maintenance items, etc.
I have been able to attend all 5 of the TDR Nationals, once again I had a great time and was thankful for the opportunity to attend.
My son and I are looking forward to the next TDR National Event. Thanks to Robert Patton and the Cummins CMEP Employees for all their hard work!
