Merry Christmas to All!!

Guys, as embarrassed as I am to do this, I think I'm out. Given the ammo situation and how hard it is to come by at this time, I don't think it's prudent to go plinking and use what I have. What are your thoughts?

I think you hit the nail on the head. On a recent trip to the local gun shop, hand gun ammo was ~$45 a box. Looking on the web, $1. 09 a round. A brick of . 22 was astounding. My new handgun will get sighted in. That's about it for now.

If congress is looking for something to do. Why not an investigation into the huge rise in price of ammo? To me, it's the new form of gun control. A gun without ammo is a club.

The ammo shortage and price gouging is nobody's fault but our own. Regardless of the speculation that the various agencies have been placing orders for astronomical amounts trying to cause an ammo shortage for the consumer, there are the hoarders that started buying ammo anywhere and everywhere they could after Sandy Hook and the POTUS going national with "New Gun Laws" on the news. The same reasons you cant find reloading components anywhere. The price gouging is all happening at the retailer level. The manufacturer did not jack up the cost. That $1. 09 a round, is the retailer making $. 75+ a round.

Until all this nastiness at the Federal and State levels across the country subsides, we won't see the shelves getting stocked and prices come down.
