Well 8 or 9 months ago I had a prob with my truck that I was informed to be my "fuel shutoff solenoid"... I was still kind of a greenhorn too... .

Anyhow got a solenoid from a friend through a Dodge Dealership for $333 (list $400!)... . came home and my issue of TDR had arrived... sat down and read it and a guy with the exact same truck as me had the same problem... . it was suggested to him through the TDR mag that he replace the relay or grind the contacts in the OEM relay. He ended up replacing it and I ended up grinding on my OEM relay! :D Also got my $333 back!Oo.

Well probly close to a month ago now my truck started having the same probs... . after about 2 weeks I broke down and bought an OEM relay for $38. Didn't fix it! Talked with Piers @ Muncie and he said take the solenoid apart and clean it and see if that didn't save me $150 as it was looking:rolleyes:

So finally tonight I decide enough it enough and dive right into it as soon as I get home from work.

Took the solenoid off and came up to the computer to print off the "test method" to take back down to the basement with me. Upon my search I find something about a "blue wire" on the battery that is part of a fuseable link to the shutoff relay.....

on a hunch I go downstairs and hunt for this blue wire... ... . upon finding it one little tug and it came right off

THANK YOU TDR! for saving me $150..... even though I bought a relay I didn't need :-laf

That's awesome you found the problem. The TDR has saved me quite a some of money also. I would've never figured out the fuel supply/return line would leak air in but not fuel out.

Same happen here.

Fuel selenoid jammed open, engine would not shut of.

From reading past post I find that the ball joint under the selenoid sometimes rusts up. Sure enough, saved another ton of $$$.
