Pullrite Super 5th hitch question

Thanks to the TDR and all the great folks that make it what it is. Through these forums I found out about Goodyear Marathon trailer tires that will be replaced for free if they qualify and 2 of mine did and I recieved 2 new tire for the cost of the balancing. That is a savings of about $300. 00 plus the bonus of no trailer damage and not having to deal with a blowout on the road. My old tires were still 75% but 7 years old. That covers my membership for 9 years.

Thanks Guys

John

Deezul1 congrats, could you give a little more details. My 97 Mallard has 4 badyear Marathons with lots of thread life left.

I've read the threads, but was does it take to qualify?

Thanks,

Bob

After the Marathon logo if there is a circle with an S in it these tire are supposed to be ok. If no circle with S in it call a goodyear store and ask about the tires, some place like Discount tire doesnt know about it, has to be a Goodyear store.

mine are 225/75/15 Load Range D. Its not a recall according to the tire store but they are replacing all these tire at no charge.

your lucky

this site costs me lots of money, seams I have this infinity to bomb:D and I love every minute of it... ..... Kevin

I have the same size, I just checked and there is no S.

I will call a Goodyear store today. I have a trip planned for next week

Thank you Deezul1

All 5 tires will be replaced Monday morning

I did have to call Goodyear direct (1 800 321 2136) to get a file started.

Thanks for bringing this topic back up, I remember it rom last year but I never acted on it.

Thanks again :)

Bob

Goodyear tires

Checked with the Goodyear Truck tire store at Port of Tacoma Rd and 99. They are having about 100 of the new tires delivered this week... will be getting mine changed ASAP on my 01 Komfort.

:)

Good Year guy Says no problem

I spoke to Dan Bear at Goodyear Tire here in Portland 503-285-5211. He said there was no problem with the 205 75R 15 as on my trailer. Said that some problems with the 215 or 225 75R 15 tires were being taken care of. Problem was that when the tires are loaded to the maximum there have been some failures ususally with 5th wheel trailers. He recommended that the tires be filled to their maximum pressure of 60psi? and to have metal valve stems installed if you have the rubber valve stems. Should get 50 or 60 thousand miles without any trouble. He didn't offer to replace the valve stems or the tires. Any Comments?

Goodyear replaced mine- & they had the "s". :rolleyes:There is a huge number of these tires that have been replaced by Goodyear. I paid for an upgrade to the new trailer tire . It is a "G" series tire & carries a 110# air pressure limit. These tires are now factory installed tires on the larger (32 ft & up ) Alpenlites. Check your wheel limitations before buying these tires!

Happy trails. :D:

TIRES

The Goodyear store at Port of Tacoma RD called me... tires are in. . taking the trailer there today to get 5 new ones...

They didnt hesitate to offer to change the old ones for the new !!

tires

Same problem as Lynn. My Good years are not the ones. 205s not 225s According to the Goodyear dealer in Merced Calif. Attempted to call that 800 number. What a wasted morning, line was busy and then, later, I got to listen to music for a long time. GoodYear will take care of you? They won't even answer the phone. I had already replaced two of the Good Years with Coopers.
