Well it's been awhile since someone posted this, but our top ten yakkers on the board are:

10. bmoeller - 4449 posts

9. Sled Puller - 4481

8. Vaughn MacKenzie (that's me :p ) 4602 + this one = 4603 ;)

7. klenger - 4792

6. ToolManTimTaylor - 4862

5. rbatelle - just under 5k with 4997

4. Bob Wagner - 6164

3. Gary_K7GLD - 6227

2. HoleShotHolset - 6479

1. illflem - 8977

Looks like 2nd place is pretty close. Most of the high post counters have been here awhile, I wonder who has the highest "posts per day" rating? :)

Vaughn

Whew. . had me worried when I saw that title, then relief set in to see my name not there.

Now I can show my wife I am not obsessed! :D

You can still contact Bill Fleming over on DTR. He goes by Infidel over there, and has already wracked up over 4K posts!

It will take a while for someone to catch Bill-- I'll betting on Matt, though.

It looked like Moolie or Racinduallie were gonna beat Bill's record-- in about 3 months! But they've cooled it a bit... .

For a while it seemed to be a tie between CB Parker and XCX. Especially when they were talking to themselves. :-laf

I remember when Kat Diesel came on he posted like mad for awhile, but seems I haven't seen much of him of late. Not sure what happened to illflem, I enjoyed having him around even though we had a number of polite disagreements on a number of topics.

Over the years there's been a lot of great members come and go . . . Sport Bike, Mopar Muscle, HVAC, wwcd2, CMECHANIC, bmann, & DavidVT to name a few.

It just dawned on me that as of August I've been a TDR for 6 years

I remember those first few days of August '99 the 20 or so of us on the board were posting for the sake of posting, trying to make the conversation somewhat lively. I've been around to see the first transmission war, heated oil discussion, but most of all see the excitement of progressing diesel power. The first group buy I recall was by Ted Jannetty for the original van Aaken box, 60hp for what was it, $475 or so? . . . that was a big deal and a lot of guys got on board. It was about then DD came along and started producing the first modified injectors we knew of, which HVAC installed & posted about.

Well here I go reminiscing, better call it a post for now :)

Vaughn

EDIT: Here's one of my favorite old threads, "HVAC Discovers the Blue Box" :) https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5851 (HVAC started this thread, note it doesn't show his handle in the 1999 posts).

I really enjoy reading all this stuff, its funny because I remember back in 89 driving my F-350 with injected 460, a 4x4 with 4. 10's and came across an article on the Cummins/Dodge application. I just shook my head and said that will never cut it! Now look. . here I am, not only driving one but an enthusiast also.

I dont post often but I read a whole bunch and you always have input on every thread

SHEER numbers of posts are in themselves pretty meaningless - it's the QUALITY of posts that count, not QUANTITY!

Many of us scatter lots of BS posts across a wide path of subjects - but it's the knowledgeable guys with insight and helpful natures that REALLY are of value on boards like the TDR. I'd take *1* knowledgeable post over a dozen trivial BS ones ANY day!

We've seen a few bumps here - and all lost valued contributors as a result. Fortunately, the TDR remains the primary source for valuable info across a WIDE path of subjects and issues - here's hoping we can continue to maintain that tradition, and minimize the "bumps"... ;)

Probably too much. . many times I just enjoy getting in on conversation. Gary makes a good point on meaningful posts. I never did care for live chat and got hooked on boards a few years ago.

I seem to remember introducing myself to Holeshotholset at a TDR meet and saying "oh your the guy who is always talking on TDR " I can finally sigh away the embarrassment of saying that out loud to him since i see he made the top ten yackers! Here's to ya pal! We gotta get together for another Sam Adams meet.
