And the new "illflem" of TDR, moving up from 3rd place: Gary - K7GLD!! 9372 posts

It took quite awhile, but Gary finally knocked Bill off the #1 position which he held for quite some time. . . Bill hasn't been on TDR for about 4 years now, pretty amazing it took almost that long for someone to snatch the lead from him.

Vaughn

I personally figure a high posting count is neither something to be proud, OR ashamed of - it just "happens" if you are active on a board for a significant period of time, and I've been here, thick and thin, for 8 years now. :D

It's a great place - with great members - and I have learned FAR more than I have helped, and am grateful for the vast presence of those far more knowledgeable than I am, or ever will be.

One thing I personally have found, is that when I occasionally encounter that rare poster with a serious personality flaw and a chip on his shoulder, invariably, his first personal dig is aimed at my high post count, as though THAT has any bearing on any specific thread subject...

As far as I'm concerned, Steve, Robin, or Robert can set MY post count back to zero anytime they wish, it really doesn't mean much to me, except another nagging sign of old age... ;):-laf

Hey TDR gang, if you ever get the chance to meet Gary and his better half, it will be an interesting day to say the least. Home is in an OFF the beaten path beautiful part of Oregon that, well is a sportsmans paradise and a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of todays busy lives. Maybe Gary will post how far away the nearest Wal-Mart is from Canyon City, puts a bit of perspective on his spot and he can reach out and touch the world VIA TDR and his Ham radio activities.

Glad I got the chance to meet TDR's top poster and a significant TDR researcher.

Keep up the good work Gary.

Hey TDR, ever done a profile on Gary and Arleen?

Gary, I agree TDR is a great place to hang out, and you're one of the personalities that makes this board what it is. We're both old-timers here :D ONe of these day when I've venturing around the John Day area I'll come look ya up

Vaughn, you will always find the welcome mat out for you, just as it has been for Gary Croyle, Pacool Stan, and several other TDR members. Each visit has been interesting and FUN!

And if any truly want to see where the word "boondocks" came from, a visit here to the John Day Oregon area will explain it perfectly! :-laf:-laf

OH, I should include pointers to my local area webpages:

The only thing I don't have a connection for with Gary-K7GLD is his Avatar, should be a mad scientist ready to flick the switch and make his creation come ALIVE! not Bart Simpson and his Bartisms!

Hey Gary, whats up with that Bart stuff?

WELL, Bart sorta matches up with the description I sometimes get accused of - rattling around being mouthy, raising Hell and starting trouble...

;):-laf:-laf

Besides, it's hard to find an avatar I like that fits the board restrictions on size - I like the one over there now, but it's supposed to have motion, but when used here, it doesn't...

Looks like the Tasmanian Devil at a PC, now this fits better!

You are a little bit older than Bart and if you skateboarded down that "hill" you call the road you live on, well there ain't enough gauze in the Rexall store to wrap your hide up in!

Well, it was time for a change anyway - and since the Tasmanian Devil GIF wasn't moving, I settled on Mickey Mouse - sorta like some of my contraptions! :-laf

was good to go back a re-read some old posts and see some names I had almost forgot ... that's why this site will last for years, oh the memories LOL

I'm just a young whipper snapper here, with TDR that is, but I would like to say thank you to all the old farts and heavy posters for all their input of great knowledge and wisdom. This is a great site with great people and much worth while advice. THANK TDR MEMBERS HEAVY POSTERS.
