Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Nitrous and timing

Recently I purchased an engine that was in peices from a vendor affiliated with TDR. After waiting patiently for him to gather up the parts that came with the motor, my patience ran out. What should have taken 3 days took 3 months. With many calls and 6 unanswered e-mails I finally got through to come pick up my motor. At this point, he offered me a refund for the trouble I had gone through, in which I have taken him up on his offer. Now he backed out of his offer and is leaving me high and dry! :-{}

How would you guys handle this? The engine hasen't even left his shop! It took 3 months of calling & E-mailing just to get this far and now he retracts his offer. Every attempt I made to collect my parts was left with a " im busy, ill get back with you" comment in which I NEVER would get a returned call. Poor service all around would simply be remedied with a refund. After all, he cashed my check LONG before he would even consider releasing my parts & engine :( Im pretty easy to get along with, that's why I have let this issue drag out as long as I have. I to am in business for myself and realize when I have a dissapointed client. I do whatever it takes to correct my error. In this case this vendor is not playing fair.

I hope nobody else has to deal with this TDR supporter's poor service. :eek:

Is the engine complete and ready to be picked up now? If it is, then why not go through with the deal even though it was BS that he strung you along. You can always take him to small claims court and sue without the big expense of hiring a lawyer. You should name the vendor so other TDR members are warned about the vendors poor service.

name him... . that's the best way we have to deter vendors from screwing us... ... bad word of mouth goes a long way in small business.

The engine is still in pieces... who knows he might have yanked a few pieces and put them back on the shelf.

Legal matter? I hope it dosen't have to go that far.

If this transaction has transpired through the Internet or through the mail, you have a case to present to your local prosecuting attorney. If it goes across state lines, the feds might be interested. In any case it is fraud!! And I agree with foolkiller, I would tell everyone that will listen, I guarantee it would do more to get his attention than anything.

Careful Please

Once parties are named and legal action is threatened, we will have no choice but to pull this thread. Our policy is all legal matters get handled offline.

Also, DO NOT . . . I repeat DO NOT speculate on who it "might be. " I can only imaging how livid any of you would be if you were named in something you had no involvement in.

Robin, isnt there something you can do since it is a TDR vendor who is giving him the pinch? Im terrified to buy from any other vendor on TDR except Genos because of the horror stories you read about on here with them giving our members grief. Im a very patient man myself but there is absolutely no reason he should have to wait 3 monthes for an engine in pieces when its already been paid for. Since this is a paying board we shouldnt have to worry about scrupulous vendors on our site..... they should be removed!

I've done some research and im finding out this isnt exactly what was said!

I think the poster wanted alot for nothing after running out of cash to finish a project! Im sure that the "vendor" will make it right. A Reputable vendor cant afford to not make it right!

I think it goes to show theres more to every story you hear , its bad everyone in our culture these days thinks there right (not talking about this situation) In general, everyone has a prespective of whats right and it seems its never what anyone else thinks is right. I dunno man:confused:

Issue has been resolved.

Resolved as in you have either have a check in your hand or the parts are in your possession right now? Did they see the post here and then rectify it before names were named?Just curious.

I only order parts with a credit card due to this. I had an issue 1 time where I bought a supposedly good used engine from a salvage yard in PA and it was run and checked out good. When it came it looked like they pulled it from a lake and it sat there for a long time. It was full of water even the oil was white like it was run with water in it. the spark plugs were rusted in solid. I returned it and disputed it through the credit card company. I was refunded by the credit card co. and they fought it for me. I documented everything and took many pictures.

Just my . 02 its not resolved until the cash or parts are in your possession. Until then its still an empty promise.
