Fuel cost versus lube oil cost

Chris, I think Mad Puppy's HP in the 1/4 mile is significantly higher. I could be wrong though, and he does have a new motor now that makes the "old" one seem underpowered.

You could be correct on that one - that was the number that was sticking in my head from quite awhile back. I saw a brief mention of his new motor in another thread - hope it's together and ready for Muncie!!

I wont bash Ford,I know they make a good truck, sure the 6. 0 has had some problems, but I believe Ford will get it right. That being said, how many Fords do you see @ the truck pulls,I havent seen many at all and very few do well, the fact is the Cummins is easier to get the power out of CHEAPER than trying to get it out of the PSD,I had a 99 and injectors were around $700 a piece, this is why I got the Cummins, but both are good trucks.

How many '03 or '04 Dodge's have you seen at truck pulls?

The 12V has been out since '94. 10 years is plenty of time to get out there and get competitive.

Even the '94-'02 PowerStrokes are just getting some good power with innovative injectors, and redesigned HPOP's.

It's hard to be competitve when your first $50k is spent on just getting a platform in your driveway. .

I've only seen one 6. 0L PSD at the pulls here locally at the county fair last year. A 1st gen. Ram out pulled him by about 5 feet. :-laf The Ford lost power and traction at about the same time. The transmission downshifted on him, and he lost his momentum and stopped.

I saw a 600 at a truck pull about 3 weeks ago. And it outpulled a modded PSD and a stock Duramax and had a woman driving it. The PSD's seem to run out of power and smother out as the sled gets higher. The 600 ran out of traction with the stock tires but was 80 feet farther down the track than the Duramax which also ran out of traction.
