I WOULD LIKE TO SAY JUST A FEW THINGS.

FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO THANK TED JANNETTY AND HIS CREW FOR HOSTING A BBQ AND TECH SESSION FOR TDR MEMBERS. IF YOU DID NOT HAVE THE PLEASURE OF BEING THERE YOU MISSED A GREAT INFORMATIVE EVENT. NOT TO MENTION SOME GREAT FOOD.

ANYWAY HERE IS WHAT YOU MISSED. WHILE PULLING INTO TEDS SHOP ALL OF THE TRUCKS WERE DIRECTED OUT BACK. A GATHERING OF SOME SORT MATERIALIZED WITH MANY PEOPLE WHO ONLY KNOW EACH OTHER OVER THE WEB, WERE MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME AND EXCHANGING REAL NAMES AS WELL AS SCREENNAMES. AFTER SOME TIME WE ALL MOVED INTO THE SHOP FOR A TRIPLE GAUGE INSTALL DEMONSTRATION INTO A 96 2500. FIRST TED EXPLAINED HOW FRANK WAS CUTTING THE TRANS. LINE AND INSTALLING THE NECCESSARY HARDWARE FOR THE TRANS TEMP GAUGE. NEXT THEY MOVED ONTO THE AUTOMETER EGT THERMOCOUPLER. TED EXPLAINED WHY AND WHERE THEY INSTALL. FOR SOME OF US WATCHING THE INSTALL WAS VERY EDUCATING. WHILE FRANK WORKED ON THE INSTALL TED SHOWED US HOW THEY PAINT AND FIT THE TRIPLE MOUNT GAUGE POD. NEXT WAS THE INSTALL OF THE BOOST GAUGE. WHILE EVERYONE WAS ENJOYING A DELICOUS CATERED LUNCH OF SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS, EGGPLANT PARM, HAMBURGERS, SALAD AND VARIOUS OTHER GOOD EATS WHILE FRANK WAS FININSHING UP THE INSTALLATION.

AFTER LUNCH TED HELD COURT AND PROCCEDED TO TALK ABOUT EVERY TOPIC THAT RELATES TO OUR DIESELS. FROM FUEL AND PUMP TIMING TO INJECTORS, TRANSMISSION UPGRADES, SHOCKS, TIRES, WHEELS, TURBOS,EXHAUST BRAKES, ETC. ETC. ETC. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE VARIOUS MAGIC BOXES FOR THE 24 VALVE CROWD.

AFTER THAT WONDERFUL SESSION IT WAS TIME TO CHECK OUT SOME OF THE MAGIC BOXES. SO OFF EVERYONE WENT OUT TO DO SOME PLUG IN'S AND TEST DRIVES. ALL THE WHILE EVERYBODY WAS CHECKING OUT ALL OF THE UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT TRUCKS THAT ATTENDED. THERE WAS EVEN A LATE MODEL FORD WITH A HOME INSTALL OF A CUMMINS 12V. PRETTY NEAT STUFF. WHILE MANY TEST DRIVES TOOK PLACE IT WAS NOT HARD TO HEAR ALL OF THE NOISE. NOT TO MENTION THE CLOUDS OF BLACK SMOKE AND A FEW BURNOUTS. NEEDLESS TO SAY THERE IS SOME NEW LONG SKIDMARKS OUT FRONT OF TEDS SHOP THAT WILL PROBABLY BE THERE FOR A WHILE.

ALL IN ALL IT WAS A GREAT DAY. MADE SOME NEW FRIENDS. LEARNED ALOT OF NEW STUFF. GOT TO CHECK OUT SOME NEW PRODUCTS, AND EVEN TEST DRIVE THEM. I LEFT AT 4:30 BECAUSE THE WIFE IS 5 MONTHS PREGNANT AND SHE WAS TIRED, AND BECAUSE WE HAD A 4 HOUR RIDE HOME. THE PARKING LOT WAS STILL FULL WHEN WE LEFT. YOU MISSED A GOOD DAY.

IF TED PLANS TO DO THIS AGAIN DON'T MISS IT.

IF YOU WERE LUCKY ENOUGHT TO ATTEND I WOULD ASK YOU TO POST A REPLY SO THAT THE OTHER MEMBERS WHO WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE BEEN THERE CAN HEAR ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE. I WAS TOLD BY A FEW MEMBERS THAT THEY LIKE HEARING ABOUT THE DIFFERENT EVENTS. THIS WAS ONLY AFTER THEY MISSED THE LI EVENT AND NOBODY SEEMED TO POST ANYTHING ABOUT IT. JUST MY 2 CENTS.

ONCE AGAIN I WOULD LIKE TO THANK TED. YOUR A FIRST CLASS GUY.

PS. YOU CAN CHECK OUT SOME PICTURES FROM THAT DAY ON TEDS SITE.
