He only sees it from the inside... or in the dark. So doesn't matter.![]()

Wash it once a week, that lasts about 5 minutes...

After doing a little digging on net I see that GM has their share of timing chain stretch problems along with a few other things. Most folks seem to see it being caused by extended oil change intervals.
My mom's GMC was run on synthetic, never used a drop of oil and was on 4k mile oil changes.......75k failure is still scary. The problem with her's showed up overnight. Ran great one day then ran terribly, then quit. The PCM can compensate for timing chain stretch to a point......then it loses it's mind. Force be with you Mikey!GM has the best oil change algorithm on the planet......HOWEVER the engine oil level still needs to monitored by pulling the old dipstickeroony on occasion...
Many GM owners made the assumption that nothing (including checking the oil) needed to be done until the DIC indicated it was time for a change....
Cadillac had a heck of a time with the first batch offered with extended drain intervals. Nobody was pulling the stick...
When the oil pressure drops the chains run hotter and the hydraulic chain tensioners relax....I'm sure there are other reasons but a lot of the problem was from low oil levels.
Mine is the 3.6L....
It does have a 100,000 powertrain warranty....![]()
This has the next gen LGX engine, whether that's an improvement or not remains to be seen. The GM people I know locally said not to be scared of it....

That's the exact same recommendation my local Ford dealer had when I bought a new 6.7 Stroke in 2011.
