My experience with Amsoil (probably applies to synthetics in general).

I bought a 98, 12V, 5 speed for my wife to keep her out of mine :D. The previous owner was an Amsoil nut, oil filter, air filter, Amsoil stickers etc. 119k miles. First oil change it got a Fleetgard filter, Delo 15W-40, and a K&N, lost the muffler & kitty. Got a valve adjustment too, now to the point.

The valve covers and timing cover ( to tab the KDP ) had the normal amount of grunge inside. Spray and a little wiping and it came right off.

Added two quarts of transmission fluid and drove 20 miles, oil came out NASTY!!! Beyond black!! I have done this many times to many different engines before as a 'shock cleaning' immediately before an oil change with good results. Well anyway, with 3500 miles on the Delo the oil is still clean, just like in a new engine. The two quarts of transmission fluid didnt clean that well, it has to be due in some part to the Amsoil. I cant believe how clean the oil still is.

I have never seen Dino oil engines come this clean

I seem to have learned that Amsoil DOES keep the insides cleaner.

Beyond black? That's impossible, even though I take your point.

Think this means the engine will last longer? That's all I need. :( It will already last longer than I will be able to drive it on dino oil :-{} Just trying to help get this discussion going. :)
