Tell me again-silencer ring

Ok guys, just moved into the 2nd gen. category with the 97 3500 I bought yesterday. Now I remember y'all sayin about the silencer ring and removing it. Can someone give me some instructions on how to do this? I am deprived of hearing that turbo because Im used to the 93. Thanks

Good to see another first gen bomber stepping up to a newer style truck. . i did a few weeks ago,so did Shrimpy..... next is CODY's turn {NEEDMOPOWER}. . u HEAR THAT CODY?. . ANYWAY. . take your intake hose off. . inside the housing you'll see a circular snap ring,get 2 small flat-head screw drivers and pry it out,behind that snap ring is the silencer ring. . pull it out and put your hose back on... should be alot louder! have fun

Thanks! That sounds easy. It's good to be in an up-to-date truck! Especially with all the buttons I have. Hear that Cody? It's a GOOD feeling, not a bad thing. I know it's hard to get get it through our old fashioned hard heads, but once you break that barrier, you'll see what I mean. If you get one Cody, that will give me an excuse to take another trip to Texas to see it!
