I finally put a boost and EGT on the 2wd truck. I am seeing about 33psi and it goes quickly to 1250 and then slowly creeps to 1400. This is before the turbo. I am on the edge huh!?
hi thumper yes your geting to hot 1250 is ok but anything over1300 is bad and 1400 and above your reaching melt down keep a very close eye on that egt gauge
If you are running a stock turbo you are alright. I run mine up past 1500 degrees a lot. When racing someone it is there for at least 5 - 8 seconds. One thing you have to worry about when doing this is putting cracks in the head. 1250 is alright, just don't stay there too long.
