Exhaust Gas Temps- What should I be seeing?

Lately I have been having a coolant loss on a 2014 Longhorn 3500. I have noticed the Temp going from 190,192' and
195. On the way back from Dallas got stuck in traffic and Temp went to 200. Is this normal? Does not seem to be using as much coolant the last few day's I check the level in the morning when cold

You should have a 190F thermostat for a 2014. I'm told from another thread that your Fan clutch would kick on about 207F or so.. Up to 200F if it is hot, you are not moving/Traffic should not be a reason for concern.. That said, mine is a 2009, and never lost any coolant, I recently did the 5 year flush and fill (a bit late, but I only have about 32Kmiles).

I'd keep an eye on the level.. if you continue to lose level, you'll need to look for small leaks, worst case would be a head gasket, but I'd think that is unlikely from what you describe. It is also possible that you had some air in the system that was recently purged.. it is difficult to get all the air out, perhaps some was left from the original fill.. just a thought.

Good luck.

That kind of fluctuation in temp is nothing to be concerned with. Any loss of coolant that you cannot see is almost always an EGR cooler. Pull the EGR valve and see if it is wet if you keep losing coolant. Also as was mentioned if it was filled recently it has to be bled at the EGR cooler or air gets trapped and will eventually come out and drop the fluid level, or worst case ruin the cooler.
