Template of Mallory BHAF Mount Is Here

I have created a template of Brian Mallory's BHAF mount. Brian provided me with a trace of one of his beauties, in the hopes that he could perhaps get some of his life back. It's not 100% accurate at this point, but it's close enough to get you down the road and started, and probably as close as I will ever get it.



Assembling the template is as simple as printing out the 8 pages, cutting off some of the overlap between pages, taping them together, and cutting it out.



Assemble like so:



A-1 B-1

A-2 B-2

A-3 B-3

A-4 B-4





A word of caution the three holes that are on the template are intended to be for the . 250" mounting studs for the factory air box. I cannot guarantee that they will be placed within tolerences so please take the time to locate their placement yourself.

Been waiting for this. Not that I'm cheap but I have a nice piece of dimpled stainless that I think would look really sharp. Anyone have any suggestions for trimming up the stainless?? That stuffs a bear to work with.

If the stainless isn't real thick you could use a pair of powered sheers or if your really good a plasma cutter. I have also used a good jig saw with a metal gutting blade too.

Hey THANKS FOR ALL OF THE EFFORT PUT INTO THIS I downloaded the . zip file & pasted the whole thing together. Looks nice & had no problems (Other than clearing off the kitchen table to have a nice flat space tp paste it togethter on) Now... . just to find the right piece of aluminum.

Do you have any sort of program that handles ZIP files? It sounds like you're being asked to select something... such as WINZIP... to open the file. To open zips, you need an unzipper.

It looks like you entered the drawing in Visio. Is there any chance that you could post the Visio drawing. That way those with access to a plotter could plot a single drawing and save the taping

Yes I used Visio as the source for the drawings, but they are still 8 pages of drawings. Because I don't have a plotter :-( I found it easier just to break it up.

Can you post a dimensioned drawing? Then I could redraw it and plot it out full size. Or e-mail me an AutoCAD or SolidWorks drawing...

Sure I could do a dimensioned drawing, but it will probably be a week or two, and it's still gonna be Visio format. I have never had very good luck exporting Visio into Autocad.



Actually I have never had good luck exporting Visio into anything, but that's a different story.

That's fine! I can whip up an AutoCAD version pretty quick (as long as my homework is done ). When you post the dimesioned version, I'll draw it in AutoCAD. Then I can plot out a true sized template.

Does anyone have a photo of the Mallory mount and BEHAF filter in place and in use that they could post to this thread.

I think Dodge did, they call it the engine compartement! ... ... . Do you think we could fit a box over that monster? Might be tigh!

I hope to someday get enought time to build something that completely incloses the filter if for no other reason that I have gotten mine muddy on more than one occasion. I have also been thinking that it would be really sweet to figure out a good way of getting cold air (in quantity) from the front of the truck. I have seen other folks that have used the wheel well, and that is not acceptable to me.



My truck sees a fair amount of off road use, and anything in the wheel well is gonna get in the way of my wheel travel. Of course there aren't too many other solutions because of all the radiators etc. in the engine compartment, but if there's a will there's a way... right?





Now a snorkel would be cool, but who wants to look at that ever day?
