Tensioner Pulley

I purchased the tensioner pulley from Geno's because the one on my truck is worn badly and has caused the belt to jump a rib. Do I have to remove the tensioner to replace this pulley or can it be done with the tensioner still installed?

I changed the pulley on the 99 I had and I removed the tensioner, I believe the bolt that holds the pulley is on the back side and not accesible from front. bg

My 05 kept jumping a rib on the belt and I replaced the pulley a couple of months ago and I had to take the whole assembly off to change the pulley. When I took the whole assembly off I noticed that the assemble had been rubbing on the engine and and causing it to squeak. I bought the whole assemble and changed it out. No more squeaks and no more belts jumping and rib.
