Competition Doesn't Make Sense !!!

I am heading up to Bandimere today to run the truck I am not a real racer. 2nd time to the track. Any suggestions to get the fastest time out of my truck would be appreciated. Do I power brake it up or just wait for the lights and mash the GO pedal to the floor. I managed to run a 15. 5 last year before I added stage 3 injectors, PDR HX40, 4 inch exhaust and PE4200. What do you think I should run this year??? I hoping to keep up with my friends supercharged Dakota RT pickup. Thanks for any input.

Mike:

Can't answer your question as I race from the sidelines. How is that thing running? How did your towing go last month? Did she do all you expected? I talked to Al a while back said he got his gauges in by himself and all went well.

Barry,

Everything is running very good now. I put on the PE4200 setup as the lift pump no longer kept up and it was only 2 weeks old when replaced. I took it in and got the flash done and the problem I was having with it dieing when shifted into gear has appeared to be gone. It runs like a Violated ape and you don't even know the camper is back there. There is a little more lag with the HX40, but well within reason. I love the 4 inch exhaust and the turbo singing. I'll let you know how it does at the track. We need to get another dyno day lined up for that place in Fort Collins at PFI also. Talk at ya later.

You should try power braking it slightly to build boost before leaving the line. If you stage before the guy next to you, you should be able to have some time to build the boost up. If he stages first you need to start building the boost as soon as you get staged, otherwise the lights will come down faster than you can get the boost built up enough.

Well I managed to squeak out a 14. 7 tonight at Bandimere Speedway here in Denver. My 60 ft. times suck to say the least along with reaction times. Oh well having fun learning.

If you power brake enough you should be able to break into the 13's. with your setup. Just keep in mind the more boost you build the more chance of busting something;)
