Test drove 01 H.O. 6 speed

WOW! I also did my own shootout. Here are the results. I have a 99 automatic with 3. 54 gears. I pulled my friends boat up to MT. charleston (weight 3500 Lbs)which is a good grade outside of las vegas. The 99 would pull about 60mph but would shift in and out of OD with my foot into it trying to keep that speed. Not Bad I guess. Now for the 01 H. O 6 speed. Same 3. 54 gears. I Pulled the same grade In 6th gear at 65mph and never downshifted. This truck is Amazing! I'm sure there are a couple of reasons for this. More power,torque and not alot of power loss through the transmission. Needless to say I just ordered the H. O. 6 speed. I will shift a little more for that power compared to my 99. And Pay a little more also...

Just bought my 2WD HO 6spd the 18th of May. I have to wait until this Saturday to get the fith wheel hitch in and see how it tows. And I felt my 95 5spd CTD was a rocket! Can't wait!...

I ordered one on May 2nd, got a VON on May 7th, and Dodge called the dealer on May 8th refusing to schedule the truck because 2001 production had shut down. They refused to take an order on a 2002 until July. If they take your order, I'm gonna be p!$$ed! #ad

I switched from a '99 auto to the 01. 5 DEE/ETH and the difference is unbelievable. I don't know how much the Git Kit helped but I just got back from Ozark, Missouri to West Virginia and I want to tell you that there wasn't a speed limit I couldn't break pulling the 35' 5th wheel going up mountains. Didn't need to downshift at all. These trucks are AWESOME!!!!!
