Seeking input on 12 VDC test lights, w/ or w/o digital voltage indication on board. I know they need to be kept away from "computers" and PC boards, but a lot of my stuff is pre-OBD and not readily hurt. Any names/models for me to research welcome...TIA
I would buy a quality 12 volt circuit tester with an incandescent bulb. The incandescent bulb provides a significant electrical load, digital tester do not - consequently, digital tester results can be misleading. The one shown below has a strain relief and a very flexible 48" cord. The bulb is replaceable, but you will probably never need to replace it.
I call it the scope on a rope, I do a bunch of electrical work on vehicles.
I use power probes, meters, but sometimes you just need a good old fashioned test light with a bulb for a load unit.
