Finally taking the cat off my truck. What is the number for the test pipe or what is the size of the pipe, also is it straight because if it is I'll just fix it myself. I think it's 3 inches. Mine's a 98 12valve let me know by email. Thanks I'm getting that clogged thing out of my truck.

52019170AB

It's 3" and it's straight. It also has the little notches in the end so it fits just right and looks like it was there all the time.

The parts folks @ Dodge looked up the part # & all is said was "Pipe". It came & he said, "What the he@# is this". You've got to love it. #ad
I picked up the test pipe & hauled it directly over to the muffler shop. Pulled up to the muffler shop hauled that baby out of the back & the owner comes out of one of the bays, folds his arms & says, "Now what are you doing?" Big S eating grin & all on his face. #ad
A couple of wks earlier I had him route the exhaust straight out the back.

He would only put it on if it was 'no receipt', cash only. No problemo with me. #ad
He took it to the technician & said, "Ever seen one of these?" The answer was no & he explained it. Just as big #ad
on his face too, as he looked thru the glass @ me. Everyone likes cheating the feds.

Alternative to the test pipe.

Go to a Truck Parts House (not Pep Boys) and buy a 3"x 3 1/2" adapter, about 46" of 3 1/2" straight pipe and a 3 1/2" x 4" adapter, two 3 1/2" Tailpipe u-clamps and for $32 (including tax) you will have a 'test pipe'.
This set up eliminates the short 3" extension pipe before the cat if you have an extended cab.

Mated mine to a used 3 1/2" Banks tail pipe and muffler bought from the TDR Classifieds.

Noticed an improvement in midrange acceleration but no change in stock egt's.
