test pipe

Go to your local Dodge Dealer and order part #52019170AB. It is a section of 4" pipe flared down on one end to 3". It fits in place of the cat perfectly. Costs about $45.

Does anyone know where i can get a test pipe to see if my cat is plugged? I can't find one at any parts stores, and no muffler shops will sell me a section of pipe that appears to be about the length of a cat converter. Thanks

Form the dealer. I think they're 60-70 bucks.

Big-E, please verify the p/n... . after ordering part with same # from my local dealer I was disappointed to find I had purchased an exhaust pipe & muffler assy for a gasoline truck (may have been an error by the parts tech). btw... the parts can be purchased at Napa or most truck parts stores. I just bought a 3" to 4" reducer & a length of 4" pipe.

I just varified that part# from someone else's earlier post and it would apear to be correct. Shew, I just ordered mine today and was scared to death I was gonna wind up with some puny gasser parts!

The part # is correct unless they changed things around recently. Sounds like the parts person didn't enter it correctly. All it said on my invoice was "pipe".

The nice thing about this part is that it is made to replace the converter perfectly. No sizing, cutting required. The hardest part is getting the cat off.

A local shop here cut out the cat & put in the test pipe for cash only, no receipt. #ad
