Friends,

This thread has been very interesting and informative. I don't haul much, mostly my tractor in the enclosed car hauler or on the dump trailer, equipment on the flatbed of the truck, or lumber/pipe on the truck or dump trailer I buy from Northern Tools and Costco. I tend to overdue tying down the tractor or any cargo by double securing it. I never had any failures and relegate old or retired straps to tree limb dragging or stump pulling.

KINEDYNE or other DOT approved brands. Clean the gear, store it out of sun & rain; inspect before and after each use.
