This thread has been very interesting and informative. I don't haul much, mostly my tractor in the enclosed car hauler or on the dump trailer, equipment on the flatbed of the truck, or lumber/pipe on the truck or dump trailer I buy from Northern Tools and Costco. I tend to overdue tying down the tractor or any cargo by double securing it. I never had any failures and relegate old or retired straps to tree limb dragging or stump pulling.
