Wow! You guys have it easy! I pay $1031. 00 for 6 months here. I do have a lead foot so it's not all the insurance company's fault. But, even when I had a clean driving record and a much less expensive truck, my insurance was still high. Maybe I'll move to Missouri. I do have family there somewhere.

Conroe TX, Montgomery County. State Farm current 6 month

policy for my Ram (see sig) $589. 00 with 250 deductible 100K/300K liability bodily injury, 50K property damage, 100K/300K uninsured, underinsured motorist.

What I don't get is this. . my 2001 Yukon XL 3/4 ton that has

a $45,000 MSRP, over $10K more than my Ram, is $140 LESS to insure per 6 months! And the Collision charge is $220 for the Ram, and only $138 for the Yukon.

Must be the Dodge parts are more expensive or Dodge Rams

are harder to repair.

My wifes 99 Mustang GT 5spd convertible is cheaper than my truck and I have less coverage. We are both well into the "mature" category too.

Whoa y'all

I am an attorney.

One Big problem is uninsured motorists, due

to the 1 month (temp. ) policy problem, AND

the need for Tort Reform in "personal injury"

matters. Not that injured folks shouldn't be

taken care of, I used to work PI cases, but

there are so many folks that "work the system"...

The insurance companies have professional number

crunchers and lobbyists (and attorneys!)to make

certain they are able to stay in business.

"Receivership" is not a term you want to hear

when its your claim!

Them's the rules, insurance companies operate

here under rules set by the legislature - VOTE.

Do you think Farmers insurance would have

(threatened!) to pack their bags and leave

if they were making piles of money?

Chris,

I was in Conroe for a football game this past weekend and got lost so I got to do some sight seeing... ... I would just like to say that Lake Conroe is one beautiful place... ... first time I've been there.

Chris, You hit the nail on the head. Everyone ha seen the Insurance Institute running vehicles into walls. This one factor in determining the comp and coll rates. They look at how easily they are damaged and what the cost is to repair. There is alot of plastic up front on our Dodges that does not do anything to protect whats behind it.
