Texas of all places what gives?

I found this over on the DTR and was amazed what I saw, they have enforement in Texas that they will send you a ticket or letter in the mail if you smoke to much? Thinking about this there has to be something better to do than sitting on a ramp to see if your vechical smokes... ... ... ...

I think we'd better all be judicious in the use of the long, skinny pedal or we're going to have REAL problems, not just in Texas.

Most of this occurs around the major metro areas (D/FW, Houston) where they have big problems with pollution. In addition to these checkpoints in Dallas, all the speed limits max at 65 instead of 70 to help cut down on emissions as well.

Yep. . I got one. . Mom about Crapped when she saw it, and blew a head gasket, but when I told her that alot of us (JaMan, CumminzPowr, and me) all got them, she felt relieved. . Still pretty funny though!

Apparently the system is anonymous, so it's not a citation, just a letter they send in saying a concerned citizen reported you for that. Won't the EGT's be fairly high after smoking heavily for 10 seconds anyway?


Also apparently they only issue a letter to a vehicle with TX plates. I wouldn't mind having one, would make me feel better until I can make real smoke.
