Omaha Gang - Next Meeting???

Texas Rally

Does not look good for me making this. I will be working that weekend. May be able to shift some things and go. The last one was great!

I have several things that some of ya'll may be interested in.

1. Front bumper off my son's '96. Plain bumper in '96 condition. New black plastic for the top of it.

2. New rear bumper off a 2000.

3. Reese 5th wheel hitch and rail kit. Model 30047 that pivots both ways. Brand new in box. Bought from Okie in April and decided to go a different hitch.

Anyone interested in any of this can e-mail me for a price and I will try to get to someone going that way for delivery.

Thanks,

Big John

Great Work Curtis

Glad to hear that the rally is gonna happen afterall. I plan on being there to be used and abused. ( I still remember last year LOL) It was a lot of hard work but well worth it. Are you going to be offering T-shirts and stickers again this year? Is there any good fishing there? Give me a call if you need anything, or if there is anything I can do to help.

BTW I heard you had one helluva fishing trip with MDW, congrads on actually getting to keep some of the fish you caught. Now Andrea won't be so doubtful when you say you are "giong fishing"

LOL

Later...

WhooHoo,,

I'm not sure if I should go, hehe,, Last year I went I was completely stock except gauges and exhaust.

Things have changed a little since then.

I think I'll go,, Look forward to meeting yall again.

Anybody up to find some type of street racing of any sort Friday or Saturday night? hehehe :D I think some imports need spanked.

I'll keep tabs on this thread. .

Merrick Cummings Jr

EDIT: I'll register as time gets closer and I'm more postive that I can make it.

Gosh, another year went by and I still haven't replaced my clutch. I've got to get my priorities straight. I really, really have to get a clutch now. My reservation is made and I'll be there.

 Knowing how hard Curtis & Mike worked trying to get something going that would allow the drag racers their venue, knowing the hours, phone calls, & personal contacts that resulted in dead ends, I am going to keep my committment to meet them in Kerrville!! Even tho I would love to race, to find out what my truck is capable of, I feel that I owe Curtis & The LSTDR gang debt of gratitude .

I will get my chance to race later. :D:

I'm not taking anything away from Curtis and Mike's hard work. I HAVE to be in-town that weekend for work. I'm on stand by and the races will not require me to be out of town. I hope the Campout is as successfull and well attended as last year. For those who can't make it, the drags will have to do.

Curtis and Mike worked very hard on trying to pull the drags together but for many reason's it didn't work. I hate that the events are on the same weekend, but sometime thats the way things work out. Since I know both Curtis and Mike personally, I believe they will understand if folks pick one event over the other. The drags aren't a "official" LSTDR gathering but some will be there.

Jim Ryan... ... . Hoping the above makes sense

I know a lot of people would like to see the drags in Houston that day as well as go to the rally. Even some of the competitors in the drag event will be swinging by the campsite on the way in and out. It'll be great to have those guys make it as well.

The difference between the two events is the vendor support. Since the drag event is mostly gasser competitions, there won't be as many diesel vendors showing their stuff. We are planning to have more vendors this year than last, and I'm sure they will be offering deals you can't get anywhere else.

Either way, I hope everyone has a great time that weekend. Remember, it's all about the trucks.

See ya'll in October.

Oh Man , we will be in Texas From October 10 - 12th with our racecar at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis. IWe have tp be in Vegas for another national event the weekend the Texas rally is being held. If any of you guys are in the area we will be at the track after hours as well as during the day.

Look for the DTT trailer and we wont be far. We will be in Super Gas. I am sorry we will miss the rally it is one of our favorites .

Talked to Peter at SouthBend Clutch yesterday. He's flying in for the Rally and can't wait to meet everyone. He's also agreed to hold a clutch seminar for us. This should be of interest for us stick shift guys that don't know squat about clutches(I sure don't).

See ya there Peter.

Stay tuned for more news as it happens. :)

Kerrville area Hotels

I found a pretty good list of hotels available in the Kerrville area. Those of you that don't have campers and would like to stay the night, this might help some. I haven't contacted any of these hotels and therefore don't know what the nightly rate is. The campsite is located on Junction Highway. I noticed several hotels located on the same road as the campgrounds.

Also, if you haven't considered it, travel trailers can be rented for a pretty good rate right now due to it being the "off season". I got a 30 ft TT for 4 days for a little more than $300. Just another option.

Does anyone know where I can store my trailer for 2 weeks around Kerrville, Fredicksburg area? We want to go to another event on the 9th and 10th of Nov thats just north of Fredricksburg and it might be easier to store than tow home, put it in storage then go get it and tow it back down there.

TIA

John

John, Have you talked to the park manager? A lot of parks have storage areas for their part-time fulltimers.

Hey Peter,

San Antonio International is the only one I can come up with. Or you could just fly into Houston and ride over with us. :)

We should have a caravan heading that way Friday morning.

Kerrville is about an hour west on I-10. Can't miss it.

Just got word, not only can I go (got permission from "She Who Must Be Obeyed"), but my dad who owns a Cummins powered motorhome wants to come along and camp.

So, my dad and I will be attending with a Cummins each.
