Texas trip

Three of us are heading south next weekend to ride our motorcycles. Best we can figure we have to get to close to the coast for some decent weather. We were thinking Baton Rouge, then heading west down the texas coast. Would like to hear any suggestions, where to go, where not to go. Things that we should see or any help. Also would be nice to maybe know someone in the area that I could get ahold of if for some reason we needed help. I will be taking my truck and then parking it somewhere for three or four days. Hope someone can point us in the right direction.

Bike trips are real popular in the western part of the great state of Texas. Big Bend National Park and Guadalupe National Park and Fort Davis and Alpine draw quite a few road trippers. Now we are a long ways from the Texas coast in more ways than one so you may not want to travel this far, but if you do shoot me a line and I can help you out.

West on I-10 past Beaumont to Winnie. South on SH 124 to High Island. SW along the coast on SH 87 to Bolivar. Ride the ferry to Galveston. Lots to see there. Then along the coast on Seawall Blvd, across the San Luis Pass bridge, and down to Surfside. From there you can either continue down the coast to Rockport, Port Aransas, & Padre Island (near Corpus Christi) or head for Houston & on to the Hill Country- your call. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the info, not sure if we are riding out and coming back to the same place or making a three day loop. I am thinking the loop is better. Leaving wednesday night, how is the weather? Busy trying to get things ready to go and still working every day till we leave.
