Decline in quality of fast food....

About a week ago the temperature was 75 degrees and I mowed the grass in our yard in my shirt sleeves. It would be hard to believe I did that by looking at today's photo of our front yard.

When do farmers begin planting in your area?
We had a late snow and heavy frost in mid-late April last year. It was astill too early to have anything in the ground but it ruined the grape crops and put a heavy strain on the apple orchards. With the brutal temps we are having this year, the outlook isn't so good for them this year again. The last 3 seasons have been particularly hard and have put many of the local grape and apple orchards down.

Wife and I visiting kids in Austin for Christmas . very cold , day after Christmas it got up to 78 degrees. As they say wait a half an hour the weather will change

Do you get the Pittsburgh news channels there or do you get Cleveland? They have been talking the last few days about how many local record cold temps we have had the February. I believe that they said that this will be the coldest February on record unless there is a drastic warm up over the next few days.

How often do you get snow in your area? Is it more than a few times per year?

Oh look, isn't that pretty.......:D

Is that more ice than snow?? Looks like heavy, nasty stuff.....

That's all heavy wet snow. It began raining around 2 AM this morning with the temp at 32 degrees, and by 7 AM, it turned to heavy wet snow. The trees were already coated in ice from freezing rain on Monday. It should be gone by tomorrow evening since the ground is warm and the forecast is for temps in the 40s. We haven't seen 40 degrees since Sunday and there is the possibility of snow again on Friday. We must have moved north about 500 miles while I was asleep.:D

It usually snows about once per winter and some years we don't get any. It's pretty to look at while it's coming down and collecting on the grass and usually by the end of the next day, it's gone... my kind of snow storm. :D

I can remember a white Christmas occurring twice in my lifetime. This is a photo of our backyard the second time that it occurred a couple of years ago.

We get Cleveland news. It's been nasty here too, lots of -15 to -20 degree weather. Last Friday it hit -39F, actual temp, not windchill.

Not sure if this made the news down there, but Conneaut harbor is about 15 miles north of me.

They didn't have anything about that on our news.

If I heard correctly, the lowest this week here was - 27 at the Champion weather station. Makes 0 seem downright balmy.
