My non running 1st Gen was due to a dead PCM.



Because of this forum, I had a methodical path to follow in figuring out whether it was the PCM or not. Some of what I found corrected, including the negative battery cable and some of the body to frame, body to body and body to wiring harness grounds clearly needed to be done anyway. Well, I ended up with only one last option aside from burning it to the ground which was the PCM. Got a rebuilt one from Ebay recommended by a couple of people here. Installed and VOILA... perfect.

i couldnt agree more mike. ive found solutions to most of my dodge problems on this site too. Its a good support group, makes you feel like your not the only one who is totaly lost and confused about some unheard of problem :-laf i can confidently say that the guys on this sight have MUCH more knowledge of these trucks than any dealership and most diesel shops aswell, seeing how a fair amount of these guys are full time mechanics. i dont think im alone in feeling like these guys are the "Authority of 1st gen Cummins"
