A few days before the Don M amsoil thread started I bought Rotella to replace my 16,000 mile amsoil. I had decided to change it because it was to black to suit me.

One of Don's comments was that extended oil changes gave something time to happen that might be missed if the oil was not changed quicker.



Well I slid under the truck yesterday to drain mine and low and behold the transmission pan was all wet. Well I got about 1/2 turn on all the bolts, but if I had not been going to change the oil I wouldn't have discovered it for a while.



Incidently, the amsoil I removed was still plenty slippery between my thumb and forefinger.

Hi Jim,



Yepper, that extended drain stuff is not for me either. Some guys might have some luck with it, but my old truck is too fueled up for extending the drains. Suicide for hot-rod diesels, IMO.

Plus, I have liked the time I spend on my Ram and the enjoyment I get when working on her.

Don M... . The pleasure of changing my oil was greatly increased by my BHAF. A few twists with the screw driver and that whole thing lifted right out of there. I couldn't believe the room it gave me to get a filter wrench on the oil filter. Changing that filter is now a piece of cake. I can't hardly wait to do it again..... Jim Mackey
