Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
Just wanted to give a thanks to Rip at sourceautomotive and Bob Wagner for help. this last weekend Iwas downloading new smarty SW on the truck and it would not load. the truck would not start. the error code was telling me no signal/bus to ecm. either it was connection problem or ecm was friedcalled Rip for advise he quickly called to get help advise from Bob. called me backand told me what to look for and try. I still showed the wait to start light on my dash whichwas a good sign. I guess if this was not showing the ECM would most likely be shot. I disconnected my batteries for a hour to attempt to default the system. tried this still no start nonothing. so it has to be a connection issue. checked fuses. then I caught that when I was using the usb port for the smarty that the usb port was loose. so I plugged the smarty back in pushed from the back side of usb and my connection came up and on the smarty came the messagea previouse update has been interupted. put in stock mode. truck fired no problem. cleared the codes. and then updated back to smarty. all good. so thanks again to great help. and to check those usb ports.
