Bosst Pressure Check

Anything Happening in the NorthWest in June/July 2002?

I just wanted to extend out a Big Thanks to Colorado Diesel for the awesome day they gave the RMTDR.

For anyone that comes to Denver, I really suggest they stop on by and visit these guys. They are very friendly and are not afraid to give you a truthful answer to any question.

From what I saw everybody had a really great time.

Just as an FYI to everyone, I have the Dyno numbers for everybody written down, but we have a little discrepency on the numbers so I want to get them straightened out before I post them up. I heard that we were not running rear wheel horsepower tests, but parasidic tests. A parasidic test is where you eliminate the drag of the tires and the drivetrain and test at the flywheel. If he has time, I'll let Tyler elaborate on if this is true or not. Then once he tells me if these numbers that I have are correct or not, then I'll post them.

Again guys... Thanks for all of the great hospitality and please tell everyone Thanks!!

Kev

Ditto on the big thanks to Colorado Diesel.

It's good to know there is someplace other than DC dealers to get work done.

I don't know about the parasidic test thing...

Tyler did do the first run to get parasitic info into the database, and then I thought he did three runs for the horsepower test.

My HO (245 hp/505 ft. lbs stock) put out 237 hp/

642 ft. lbs with just an EZ box and stock 3" exhaust. :( (gotta get a 4" exhaust!)

I sure HOPE this was rear wheel horsepower!

I had a great time too. It was diffinetly worth the long drive. Traffic sure was heavy on the way back home Sunday morning.

Mine only belted out 277HP and 730 TQ, I also hope this is rear wheel.

It was a fun day. I hope we can do this again. He did a parsitic run first, then did the HP runs. Mine #'s were 256. 9 HP and 764. 3 lb/ft. Not bad for a stock auto with a PE Comp.

Don't worry Jim... you didn't get dethroned... Yet!!!. . LMAO

Actually the highest HP truck we saw was a 5 spd that only had a comp box. On level 5-5 he was running 301hp.

Guys as far as the Parasidic tests... I wanted to talk to Tyler and see if that was true so that I can post the numbers.

Beieve it or not... my DD2's and EZ box came in at 296hp and 776ft lbs of torque. I was happy with them numbers...

We were wondering about Mike Cary's truck at 335 hp 780 ft lbs & Don's at ATS that had 319 hp at 1003 ft lbs :)

Yeah them numbers had to do with the way that Tyler was adjusting the dyno. But them torque numbers seem wayyyyy off. . even though I saw them first hand too.

I found that very interesting.

Wow same dyno as yours was run on. We have seen both of the trucks running the same numbers prior. So that makes your numbers wayyyyy off too... .....

I agree. . about my numbers too. But do keep in mind that I have the DTT setup in my truck and that my TC never locked up. If it would have locked up my HP would be higher.

That's why I wanted to find out what type of tests these guys were running for us...

Boy is this dyno stuff interesting... LOL

Thats exactly what you should have. DDII'2s + EZ = 300hp usaully to the rear wheels.

Yeah Jim. . your safe for a while. Dons truck wouldn't break 320hp.

So your numbers are safe for a while. . Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll catch up to ya. . LOL (In my dreams) ha ha ha

Kev

I have a feeling Don's truck would generate some higher numbers with a little more dyno time, maybe by doing a constant-speed type test. It seemed that most of the trucks weren't being fully loaded on the dyno. I will say that his truck is scary-fast.

Some RMTDR photos

Thanks Colorado Diesel. Good to see Bud West and sons re-appear. I used to see these guys in Franktown a bit, and was disappointed to drive through there and see them shut down and moved to Englewood(?) temporarily.

Seems they were up to some good! Plenty of trucks and H&H trailers for sale up there.

I had to leave before I could get my first gen on the dyno, but sure enjoyed the burgers and watching others do quite well. Nice to see Tyler give everyone personal attention.

Quality folks, clean shop, excellent day.

Here are a few photos. Send email to -- email address removed -- if you want a copy that is better quality than the shrunk down versions.

My first run was 219/575. I knew it didn't load right - egt and boost were way low. They did a constant mph run later in the day and it was 283/714 that time. Craig
